As a veteran corporate and business law attorney, and former senior legal executive for major international companies, I have the experience to guide clients through mixed legal and business issues in their operations, to anticipate and avoid problem areas and unnecessary complications, and to devise practical solutions for getting the job done.

As Vice President and General Counsel for Halco Mining, a consortium of international aluminum companies led by Alcoa in a mining joint venture with the Republic of Guinea, I served as chief negotiator and spokesperson for the consortium on the joint venture's Policy Committee with senior officials of the Guinean government, and completed over $250 million in financing agreements with the African Development Bank and commercial banks for infrastructure projects and mine expansion.

In mergers and acquisitions, I have been lead counsel for transactions ranging from the $4.25 million acquisition for a San Diego-based company of a German manufacturing company and portfolio of intellectual property assets owned by Swiss interests, to the $600 million acquisition for a U.S banking group of a consumer finance and home mortgage business in the United Kingdom.
